Located in Pudong Park, Shanghai’s Oriental Pearl Tower is considered an architectural symbol of the city and is the world’s third tallest TV and radio tower. The tower measures 1,535 feet (468 m) tall and consists of 15 different spheres of various sizes and levels, representing pearls dropping onto a jade plate. A popular tourist attraction, this tower hosts a variety of activities including entertainment, sightseeing, hotel, and radio and TV transmissions.
One of the main features of this tower is a double-decked elevator, which can hold up to 50 passengers at a time and travel at a rate of 23 feet (7 m) per second. Here, you can take an exhilarating ride up to the sightseeing deck, where you can see panoramic views of the bustling city of Shanghai.
