Tongli is an idyllic waterside town located in Jiangsu province in the south of the Yangtze River Delta. With a history of more than 1000 years, this well-preserved town is known for its natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Tongli is divided into seven islands intersected by fifteen canals. In the front of buildings, steps leading into traditional residences make it convenient for residents to wash clothes and travel around by boat. Throughout the town, stone bridges, arched roofs, and green willows line the waterfront creating a poetic atmosphere.
