Day 1  USA – Bangkok

Our Thailand vacation starts as we board an international flight bound for Bangkok, the "City of Angels". *Thailand entry visa is not required for USA passport holders. Day 2  Arrival Bangkok Accommodation: Centara Grand At Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok

Touch down in Beijing and catch a connecting flight to Bangkok, Thailand's capital city. Upon arrival, we will be greeted and transferred to the hotel for rest.

Day 3  Bangkok (ABF,L) Accommodation: Centara Grand At Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok

Bangkok is a city of gleaming modernity firmly rooted in ancient Buddhist tradition and beliefs. After breakfast, we visit the Temple of Golden Buddha which is home to the world’s largest solid gold Buddha statue. A magnificent piece of history not to be missed, the seated Buddha measures 10 feet high, weighs over 5 tons, and is worth an estimated $14m. Stroll through one of Bangkok's largest Flower Markets at Paklong Talat. Then we visit the oldest temple, the Temple of Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho). After enjoying a Thai buffet lunch at a local restaurant, we have the chance to visit the Gem's Factory & Thai silk. The rest of the evening is free or you can choose to enjoy our Thai Dinner and classical dance show.

Day 4  Bangkok (ABF) Accommodation: Centara Grand At Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok

Enjoy the full-day at leisure or join the optional Landmark of Bangkok Tour & Boat Ride along the River of the King. During the tour we visit and admire the royal splendor of the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha Temple. We then board a motor boat and make our way along the Chaopraya River to our restaurant where we will enjoy our lunch. After lunch we visit the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall (Marble Hall) to admire the "Art of the Kingdom" Exhibition which contains exotic and unique Thai art created by local artisans. This modern palace blends Western Renaissance architecture with ancient Thai design. (For the Marble Hall visit, sleeveless tops and short skirts are not allowed for women. Men are required to wear pants and shirts with sleeves.)

Day 5  Bangkok - River Kwai (ABF,L) Accommodation: Felix River Kwai Resort

Today we head to Kanchanaburi to visit the War Cemetery and The Bridge over River Kwai. In 1943, thousands of Allied Prisoners of War (POW) and Asian labourers worked on the Death Railway under the imperial Japanese army in order to construct part of the 415 km long Burma-Thailand railway. Today, we have the opportunity to ride on the train from Kachanaburi Station and cross the Bridge on the River Kwai. We will continue along the nature trail on Death Railway to Kasae Cave Station on the wooden bridge. After lunch, check into our hotel and enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure or join our optional tour "Elephant Trekking & Bamboo Rafting with dinner". We visit the famous Elephant Camp to see how talented these elephants are. Experience a close-up encounter with baby elephants and ride on an elephant's back for a 30 minute forest trek. Board small bamboo rafts and float along the Kwai River. Dinner is served at Elephant Camp.

Day 6  River Kwai-Ayutthaya (ABF) Accommodation: Krungsri River Hotel

After breakfast, we continue our journey to Ayutthaya, the former capital city of Siam. Ayutthaya was founded in 1350 and became Thailand’s second capital city. It maintained its position as a major power in the Southeast for 417 years until it was destroyed by the Burmese in the 18th century. Its remains, characterized by gigantic monasteries and prang (reliquary towers), showcase the past splendor of the dynasties that once ruled this city. Ayutthaya World Heritage covers the historic ruins covering Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Yai Chaimongkol and an old royal palace situated in Bang Pa in Palace. Return to the hotel late in the afternoon. At night, enjoy the optional "Ayutthaya Dinner on the traditional wooden rice barge cruise".

Day 7  Ayutthaya – Bangkok - Chiang Mai (ABF) Accommodation: Holiday Inn Chiang Mai

Today we drive to Bangkok and then take a short flight to Chiang Mai, a city of great historical interest and noted for its handicraft villages and colorful ethnic hill tribes. For the past twenty years, Chiang Mai has transformed into a bustling modern city with a population of over 1.5 million. We will start our Chiang Mai City Tour by visiting and exploring one of the revered temples in Chiang Mai - Wat Chedi Luang. Constructed during the Lanna period, each temple reflects the glory, splendors and nobility of a rich historical era. Drive around the old city to see the surrounding moat and the ruins of the city gates. Continue our tour with a visit to the famous Thai Handicraft Village, Sankhempeng factories of Silk & Cotton hand weaving, Borsang, Village of Umbrella and primitive paper making . Return to the hotel late in the afternoon. Enjoy the night free at leisure or join our optional "Lanna Kantoke Dinner Show".

Day 8  Chiang Mai (ABF) Accommodation: Holiday Inn Chiang Mai

Enjoy the day free at leisure or join our optional tour "Chiang Mai Elephant Safari Adventure & Long Neck Hill Tribe Village with lunch". We visit the work elephants in the jungles to experience a close-up encounter with the elephants and see how they work in the natural environment. Afterwards we will go an Elephant ride and Ox-cart ride. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. Enjoy bamboo rafting along the river and visit different hill tribe villages - Akha, Potong, Lisu and Karen Long Neck.

Day 9  Chiang Mai (ABF) Accommodation: Holiday Inn Chiang Mai

Explore the city on your own or join our optional "Spirit of Chiang Mai tour with lunch". Chiang Mai is a city of great historical interest and is noted for its handicraft villages and colorful ethnic hill tribes. Visit the historical Doi Suthep Temple and the Holy Pagoda containing a relic of Lord Buddha. Continue our trip by local truck along the bumpy mountain road to visit White Hmong Hill Tribe Village. In old times, migrants from China gathered here and lived in simple, isolated and self-sustained villages. Their culture is well preserved. Lunch is served at local Thai restaurant at Natural Park.

Day 10  Chiang Mai - Bangkok – US (ABF)

Enjoy the morning free at leisure until we are transferred back to Bangkok. After dinner, we take the bus to Bangkok International airport to board our homebound flight. **The flight back to the US departures in the early morning on the next day (Day 11). Your arrival day in the US will be also on the same day.
