Day 1  USA - Bangkok, Thailand

Our Asia vacation starts as we board an international flight bound for Bangkok. Enjoy inflight meals, beverages, and entertainment. *Thailand entry visa and China entry visa are not required for USA passport holders. If you choose to extend your stay in Beijing, then you will need to obtain China visa. For passports other than US passport, please get the entry visa on your own. Day 2  Arrive Bangkok Accommodation: Centara Grand At Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok or Similar

Touch down in Beijing or Hong Kong and catch a connecting flight to Bangkok, Thailand's capital city. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our local tour guide at the airport and transferred to our luxury hotel accommodations. Relax and enjoy your first night in Bangkok, the "City of Angels".

Day 3  Bangkok (ABF,L) Accommodation: Centara Grand At Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok or Similar

Bangkok is a city of gleaming modernity firmly rooted in ancient Buddhist tradition and beliefs. After breakfast, we visit the Temple of Golden Buddha which is home to the world’s largest solid gold Buddha statue. A magnificent piece of history not to be missed, the seated Buddha measures 10 feet high, weighs over 5 tons, and is worth an estimated $14m. Stroll through one of Bangkok's largest Flower Markets at Paklong Talat. Continue on to visit the oldest temple, the Temple of Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho). After enjoying a local Thai buffet lunch, we have the chance to visit the Gem's Factory & Thai silk. Spend the evening free at leisure or join our optional "Thai Classical Dance Show with Dinner".

Day 4  Bangkok (ABF) Accommodation: Centara Grand At Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok or Similar

Enjoy the day free at leisure or join the optional "Landmark of Bangkok Tour & Boat Ride along the River of the King". During the tour we visit and admire the royal splendor of the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha Temple. Board a motor boat and make our way along the Chaopraya River to the restaurant where we will enjoy our lunch. Continue on to visit the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall (Marble Hall) where we will admire the "Art of the Kingdom" exhibition which contains exotic and unique Thai art created by local artisans. This modern palace blends Western Renaissance architecture with ancient Thai design. (For the Marble Hall visit, sleeveless tops and short skirts are not allowed for women. Men are required to wear pants and shirts with sleeves.)

Day 5  Bangkok - Kanchanaburi - River Kwai (ABF,L) Accommodation: Felix River Kwai Resort

Today, We visit the most colorful Damnern Saduak Floating Market. Ride a long-tailed speed boat along the canals where the timeless lifestyle of native Thai people can be observed. Fruits, spices, souvenirs and more can all be found along the way. We head to Kanchanaburi to visit the War Cemetery and the Bridge over River Kwai. In 1943, thousands of Allied Prisoners of War (POW) and Asian laborers worked on the Death Railway under the imperial Japanese army in order to construct part of the 415 km long Burma-Thailand railway. After lunch, check into the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 6  River Kwai - Ayutthaya (ABF) Accommodation: Krungsri River Hotel

After breakfast, we continue our journey to Ayutthaya, the former capital city of Siam. Ayutthaya was founded in 1350 and became Thailand’s second capital city. It maintained its position as a major power in the Southeast for 417 years until it was destroyed by the Burmese in the 18th century. Its remains, characterized by gigantic monasteries and prang (reliquary towers), showcase the past splendor of the dynasties that once ruled this city. Ayutthaya World Heritage covers the historic ruins covering Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Yai Chaimongkol and an old royal palace situated in Bang Pa in Palace. Return to the hotel late in the afternoon. At night, enjoy the optional "Ayutthaya Dinner on the traditional wooden rice barge cruise".

Day 7  Ayutthaya - Pattaya (ABF,L) Accommodation: Long Beach Garden Hotel & Spa

After breakfast, board our bus and head to Pattaya. Situated on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, Pattaya is a popular beach near Bangkok receiving millions of tourists each year. Upon arrival in Pattaya we explore the city and take a ride on "Theme Park - Dark Ride," a spectacular show of the glittering world of gems. The rest of the day is free at leisure. In the evening, enjoy our optional "Pattaya by Night Dinner and Cabaret Show".

Day 8  Pattaya - Bangkok - Chiang Mai (ABF) Accommodation: Holiday Inn Chiang Mai or Similar

Transfer from the hotel to Bangkok airport and catch a flight to Chiang Mai -  a city of great historical interest and colorful ethnic hill tribes. For the past twenty years, Chiang Mai has transformed into a bustling modern city with a population of over 1.5 million. We will start our Chiang Mai city orientation tour by visiting and exploring one of the revered temples in Chiang Mai - Wat Chedi Luang. Constructed during the Lanna period, each temple reflects the glory, splendors and nobility of a rich historical area. Drive around the old city to see the surrounding moat and the ruins of the city gates. Continue our tour with a visit to the famous Thai Handicraft Village, Sankhempeng factories of Silk & Cotton hand weaving, Borsang, and Village of Umbrella & primitive paper making . Return to the hotel late in the afternoon. Enjoy the evening free at leisure or join our optional "Lanna Kantoke Dinner Show"  where you will have the opportunity to dine on authentic Northern Thai Cuisine while enjoying traditional Northern music and dance performances.

Day 9  Chiang Mai (ABF) Accommodation: Holiday Inn Chiang Mai or Similar

Enjoy the day free at leisure or join our optional excursion - "Spirit of Chiang Mai & Thai Cooking Class".   Culinary professionals will guide you through the different spices and ingredients and teach you how to prep and cook local Thai cuisine. After class, you will have the opportunity to taste and enjoy your own Thai creations.  Our tour continues on to Doi Suthep Temple.  Constructed in 1383, this symbol of Chiang Mai contains the holy relic of the Lord Buddha which is enshrined in the magnificant glowing golden pagoda.  A bird's eye view of the entire city and the surrounding area can be seen from the temple grounds.

Day 10  Chiang Mai (ABF) Accommodation: Holiday Inn Chiang Mai or Similar

Relax at the hotel today or join our optional day excursion to "Chiang Rai, The Golden Triangle & Don Sao Island of Laos" where we will visit the Maekhajan hot springs, Wat Rong Khun, Wat Chedi Luang, and the Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos meet.   Enjoy authentic Thai cuisine at a local restaurant before continuing on with a boat ride along the Mekong River to Don Sao Island of Laos where we will visit the House of Opium Museum.  Afterwards we will explore the market atMae Sai before heading back to the hotel.

Day 11  Chiang Mai (ABF) Accommodation: Holiday Inn Chiang Mai or Similar

Enjoy today free at leisure.

Day 12  Chiang Mai - USA (ABF)

All good things must come to an end. Board a return flight back home and bid farewell to Thailand.
